The last photo, how beautiful is the baby boa??? i want one!!!

Interesting web page Sssnakeman...if you click on 'Pinawa' to the left of that page you will see a place that is near where I grew up (near Winnipeg)... :D It's a small world...It is very flat in Manitoba...as you will see from some of the pix!

Judy

That's a baby Burmese Python, I noticed in the story it also called a large Burmese a Boa as well. :)

No, indeed it doesn't, they couldn't look more different. That's not a dig at you Teamsherman :)

I have found that a large % of keepers here have very little knowledge of exotic species. I know it's easy to say we can't have them so why know about them but I just love all reptiles regardless.
Boas being my favourite snakes always attract my attention a little more :)

nice looking country judy, heaps of herp potential?

Hi sssnakeman,

It is nice looking country but I am so in love with Australia and its vast differences in countryside, I find there no comparison. :D not even mentioning the great weather we have in Oz!!

As for herp potential?/ well as a child (a looong time ago  ) I was not into 'herps' at all except for catching garter snakes and keeping them as pets for awhile and then releasing them... I got into 'herps' after meeting my now husband Daavid, and moving downunder...After we met and married while living in Canada we had 2 Iquanas...man they can be so vicious...

With Canada being one (as a continent) with the USA and attached to South America, I feel there is not an appreciation of native animals there. I really appreciate the fact that Australia is an island on its own and how most Australians care and love all the native animals :D ....and dislike the introduced ones... :?

Cheers, Judy

I was pretty well with you up to this point 'and how most Australians care and love all the native animals'.

never heard 'iguana' and 'vicious' in the same sentence

 their claws are soooo sharp, maybe ours were not so tame?? I know I never cared to hold them (although our kids would...and Daavid)

how most Australians care and love all the native animals'.

Hi Boa, compared to what I have seen in Canada and Australia there is a big difference..maybe Canada is too close to the US..they can be quite the 'gun toting' people and happy to shoot any birds or animal that may be in their way...I could be wrong... :?

no shortage of gun happy aussies only to happy to shoot anything that moves..ive seen kookas and platypus that have been shot by these morons..this mentality is alive and well in all countries...but australia is still the luckiest country
baz

Mmm, not real sure about the luckiest, I've never quite understood what that means but yes the gun toting redneck is alive and very well here, they also drive cars judging by the number of animals I see dead well off the road.
Have to agree about the iguana comments as well, the ones we had were very tame and our big male would sit on our shoulder and eat grapes from our hands, the most beautiful lizard.
