hey guys, I have a crazy little jungly python hatchie... She is going ok but at the same time she is not going to good... She has had one feed since ive had her and she isnt taking food at the moment and all she does is strike... I have handled her and she bites like crazy but seems ok when she is on me just constantly sitting on me in strike position... thats all she does lol im safe but no one else is... in her click clack, she sits in strike position also as I moved her into a larger one then she was in, but not by much..she isnt eating and all she does is sleep all day which is normal but when she does come out she sits in strike position... I am not one hundred percent sure what to do... I believe she is getting heaps better but at the same time she seems stressed, angry and lost... I covered her enclosure with a towel so she cant see out the front end which is helping a little bit, but I am at a loss on how to get her to eat... I know she can go ages without food and I have tried putting food in front of her hide but it wont work... any tips... cheers she is on a heat cord and the temps are around 32 hot end... She is gorgeous and I am willing to be persistant but I am so unsure on how to get her to calm down... I have had her around 2 weeks...

She hasn't settled in yet, stop handling her and leave her alone for a week or 2 and then try feeding her again.
i agree , but i wouldnt even be thinking about handling it until the snake feeds regularly. theres plenty of time later on to handle the snake , geting it to stop stress and eat would be my number one and two on the " must do list "

Agree with the above. Get em to have regular feeds for s few weeks before thinking of handling

Jungle hatchies are often very snappy two weeks may not be enough time to settle in as mentioned leave it alone for say another 2 weeks keep offering food snakes get stressed too new home to get used new owner to get used too at that timw try handling everyday for just very short time and slowly increase handling time if bites your hand use a sock as a glove that way will learn your body scent

so do I feed her normally, or put food in front of her hide... I havent been handling her too much, maybe once or twice to clean her enclosure...

Firstly, she's a jungle so get use to being bitten! I would be more concerned if she was calm and not eating to be honest, jungles are generally snappy little *****s. Leave her alone for a few weeks (atleast!) and offer food every few days. Offer what ever she was eating before you got her and offer it in the same manner, i.e. if she is use to eating off the ground when no body is around let her do that until she is settled. Priority #1 for any new animal is to let them settle and don't hassle them with handling until they are feeding consistently.
P.S. Don't be upset if she never likes you handling her, she is a jungle after all and they've earned their reputation for a reason!

it a jungle and they love to bite , mine was bit the same when i got him just leave him from 2 to 4 weeks i left mine for 3 weeks he feed straight away

have you got her on 24/7 heat if not maybe why she is not eating
