Excited, scared, tired, all at the same time, lol. The shelving is in, the enclosures were delivered tonight along with some stock. The phone and fax are connected, Domain name registered, Jewelry ordered and on its way, T shirts comin too. Also found a place with cool reptile toys. Thats childrens toys, not toys for your reptiles, lol.
One of the wholesale reps told us we would be the first Reptile Specialty store in QLD. Dunno how true that is but sounds cool eh?

Do you have herp T Shirts bouncer and if so what are they like?
First reptile specialist store in Qld sounds great but you can only sell a small amount of species which aren't anywhere near as popular as carpets etc but i think it's a great start for kids wanting to get into the hobby as the basic animals Qld pet shops are allowed to sell are all great for beginners.When will you have your site up and running?

EEK, Dun be callin' us a Pet Shop, lol. Reptile Specialty, not specialist. By Reptile Specialty Store, I mean we sell nothing but reptile things. Unfortunatly your right, the species on the commercial list are very few but we are mainly about the supplies, food and paraphenalia. Yep we'll have shirts. I have a few different types coming. We'll have Jewelry, Garden ornaments, Replica's, Toys, Puzzles, Mugs, mousepads, keyrings magnets blah blah blah, lol. If it has a reptile on it, I'll attempt to get it in stock. I'm even looking at having jigsaws made from my Photographs. Stock will be low at first as we're doing this without any help from the banks but as we grow, the range of products will too.
We will be opening our doors on July 1.
Website will be up as soon as I get around to it. I'll be sure and let you all know but, we aren't trading online. Not at the beginning anyhow.

So say if i got a great pic of a snake i liked you could get it printed onto a tshirt?I know you couldn't do one offs but if it's a god enough pic might be worth making a few maybe???
If ou could provide shirts with pics others want on them at a reaso0nable price i think you would be flooded with orders as i'd definitely want a few.Also good to help pick out fellow herpers with :wink:

I could do one off's too but it's the pricing. If I was to have one shirt done, it would cost about 20-25 bucks. The more shirts, the cheaper per shirt. I've looked at those places that whack a photo on a shirt but I'm not sure I like the results. Screen printing is expensive but I'll look into it. I'm having someone design some Native Aussie Art for use on shirts etc too. Might look into buying my own Tshirt printer. Now THERE's a thought, lol. Unfortunatly, alot of the stuff I'm getting comes from the USA. There is bugger all here in Aus. I'd make a killing making the stuff myself.

out of interest what speices can be sold from stores in qld?
Glad to hear things are on track! Can't wait to have this 1 kms away from my front door!!!! (I can hear the exclamations of jealousy from other APS members). Where exactly are you opening up? I have heard a few stories around the place, at prestige pets, at the vet??? I guess it doesn't matter to much to me though since as i said, its just down the road! Good luck for the next 28 days!
