Google SOPA. Say goodbye to the free net.

heard about this in 2009, not gonna happen D3, when I was a lurker on a specific site there were posts about spamming our gov. and DDOSing the homepage in an effort to convince them not to censor the internet that worked. now I'm sure this specific unnamed site will do its work again.

You never know what will happen. Sadly the people that this effects don't care to do anything until it's to late.

Reminds me of the MPAA/iiNet case, only on a larger scale.

I might have misread something, but how can US legislation allow the US to seize domain names overseas? I've always thought of the internet as independent from government, but maybe I'm wrong.

Clever videos. The real question for me is.. How can the US shutdown Servers, ISP's and Pipelines that aren't in their borders?

If this legislation in the states goes through, I would be more worried about being local filtering once the NBN has really kicked in. Telstra sold the wholesale business side, back to the NBN (government). Meaning the NBN will soon have the majority stock in the dirty big pipe line that connects us to the world.
