Will have to with hold any comment till all is known I think.

Poor bugger, rip eric,
It is bloody amazing to think a scrubby killed him, when I heard the story I thought immediately venomous.

IF the guy had been drinking and decided to handle such a large snake without anyone else around then he was only asking for trouble, sure I feel sorry for the guy but it wasn't a very wise decision.

I think it teaches us a really valuable lesson, no matter how experienced you are, you still need to treat the large pythons as potential killers.

Ummmm.......yeah, having second thoughts!!

I don't think that we should jump to any conclusions of how this bloke has died until the coroners report is in.
I have had the media here all day trying to get stupid coments and this is the last think we need here in Australia.

Regards URS

I couldn't agree more... I truly hope they determine the snake was not involved, and even if it was, the snake shouldn't be destroyed because of it.

I wasn't trying to jump to conclusions, if you look at all the articles (excepting that ridiculous one Fuscus posted last) there are a few things that seem to be consistent.

* The guy had been drinking.
* The snake was out of the enclosure.
* There was damage to the guy that could be explained by a snake crushing him.

Sadly I think that the conclusion is obvious, again I hope it isn't, but what are the chances really??

Just saw the TV version - showed the scrubby at URS ( and Tim ). The story made out that the animal was the killer.
- Unfortunatly that ridiculous article SnakeWrangler mentioned ( and I have no arguement with that description ) is on the front page of the paper. It is what most people will see and may be what the pollies will base any law changes on :(

they wont change the laws if eric had been drinking,,i think it is not like some novice got killed by an aggressive animal.. cattle kill way more ppl than pythons ,,so do dogs and bees
