Hi i separated my male and female angle heads a week and a half ago as the female just laid her 3rd clutch in 4-5 months and being gravid for that long has completely drained her and she is skinny and i don't want her having any more eggs for a while to give her time to recover. But my problem being the male who has never been a big eater anyway hasn't eaten at all during this time and spends the whole day walking up and down the front of the cage. So i am just worried about him because he won't eat and is getting skinner (just starting to be able to see his ribs when he breathes) and is behaving abnormally? Any advice on what to do would be great as i realise he would be missing his girl but she really needs some time to recover.
P.S they are 3 years old
Thanks in advance

Sounds like sulking. And yes it is probably the miss of the female.
I'd keep them together, as long as you keep condition on the female she is fine to lay up to 5 clutches a season.
Cool them in a month or so and that will give her a break. Otherwise you risk loosing your male.

towards the end of the last clutch she became really unwell and skinny herself and after laying the eggs i nearly lost her, shes doing a bit better now but she still needs to put some more weight on and get some energy back before i put her back in with him, who is a true boy and never leaves her alone

Alright fair enough. He will continue to sulk if not with her, it's common. They crack tantrums and get moody when things change.
You could try having a divider in the cage so he can still see her, or you could wait and see if he gets over it which could be dangerous.
is this her first season?
if only we had lizard condoms...

lol i agree, ive had them for 3 years and she has laid 6 clutches each with 5-7 eggs in them.
the divider idea sounds good ill make something up on the weekend and give it a try
thanks

My pair who are oner year old haven't been really big eater's for the last few weeks either and both were at the front of the enclosure laying down, but today they surprisingly ate 3-4 mediums each from tweezers as they don't really hunt when I throw cricket's in, they usually just watch them or close there eyes when I put them in a separate feeding click clack.

Maybe it's just the hot weather?

I had a pair years ago and I lost the female to some unknown cause and the male literally sulked to death, put her back in and up her calcium. Also, this heat is knocking them around, I had to move my enclosure into the loungeroom under the air con.

Perhaps you need another couple of girls so when you have to remove one he won't notice as much. Perhaps mist the a little too, on hot day. Just in case the weather is knocking them about.
