Hey just wondering if anyone puts a heat light on southern forest dragons in winter cause it's about 14 degrees in my room where they live. Is this too cold? or is it fine?

Thanks

Oops sorry put it in chit-chat...sorry everyone

danw.G'day
14 degrees is fine for most of the day, if you want to heat them slightly with a small watt light you can or put the out in the sun for a bit. theses animals will live naturally in very wet and cold habitats. Temps that reach only 2degrees at night is not uncommon naturally, but the will need periods of time during the day to recieve some heat.

G'day danw, Mine are outside 24/7 at present and it has been down to about 6 and raining in the last week and they are fine. They do get natural sun during the day but it is filtered through palms. If you wanted to give them a low wattage light go for it but make sure it doesnt heat up the enclosure and become a dry heat. I used to use either a Blue (moonlight) or infraRed Light with my guys when they where inside and younger .
My Boyds is a different story, I bring them inside and give them a small amount of heat and UV all of which is set on timers. They get sprayed everyday with water also.
