it looks like a male sydney funnel web dont handle it just release it into the wild somewhere away from people!

Looks like a male Sydney funnel Web to me too...arr brings back the shivers of when I lived in the lower Blue Mountains ...use to get them alot .....thinks thats what gave me the spider phobia...

it was found in a mates house and she needed moved, its now in the bush somewere.
i wasnt going to play with it ....i kinda did see its fangs!

the males cant kill you can they? I've heard that its the females venom that is more potent. Or maybe it was the other way around lol. Wait maybe it was the male's venom was more potent. Lol either way I wouldnt go near that thing.

Both male and female venom is potent enough to kill you if not treated fast, but yes female venom does work much quiker

Ahh ok thanks :) Spiders are not really my thing. Although there is a nice big spider living in a crack in one of our windows. Usually they freak the hell out of me but this one seems quite content in its little web burrow thing not bothering anyone. I fed it a cricket today :)

Looks like a funnel web, take it to the Reptile Park up your way, they milk them to make antivenom. They lost a large stock of funnel webs a few years ago to fire, so I'm sure they'd take another. Assuming it's not dead of course.

Sorry, just read the other post that it was released. Consider the Rep Park if you catch any others!

In that species of spider the male is suppose to be more toxic then its female ....but either way if you recieve a bite from a sydney funnel web regardless of sex YOU NEED TO GO TO HOSPITAL;)
