Oz - Whoop Whoop
Our 1st sighting of a basking Bluey for this season.

They've been moving around and we've found them hiding - but it must be warm enough now. Awww. He looks in good nick except maybe a little thin in the body, there's a nice fat tail. Do they store fat there?

This one hasn't the orange colour that we often get on the locals. I love his striped neck markings.

I'll call him "Spot".

Em :) :) :)

i think a fat tail is a good sign of health with most skinks, i found a lil wanderer a month or so back, photographed him silly, gave him a feed and sent him on his way.
that fella looks pretty dark, i wonder if hes due a shed? do blueys go darker preshed?

That is a good sign EM. I am heading off to Mt Isa on Thursday for a bit of a break. I will have the camera handy for any of those opportunities that may come along.

Hope to see plenty of monitors and the odd fiercey would be nice but will have to wait and see.

all the lizard around my place have started roaming again

found a frilledneck lizard in my yard for the first time in years yesturday

I almost ran over one with my bicycle on the M2 on Saturday
Must've looked pretty funny to passers by with me in bright red bike pants chasing this lizard off the road

Spot is a cutie! Where is 'Oz - Whoop Whoop' Em? Just incase I am ever heading that way I can keep my eyes open and watch for them. You are lucky to have them right in your garden/yard! Thanx for sharing! :D Jude

Whoop Whoop is a nice lil town, hard to find on any map. major exporter of "woof woof" dog food. Girl there just loves a cherry ripe bar, do anything for one!

Earthmums backyard is great, heaps of hidey holes, and a nice little creek running out behind it. Great spot for herps i reckon. And a great place too.

But its not my place to say where it is.....its a secret!!!!

Whoop Whoop is east of the Black Stump 50 miles as the crow flies from Bourke. And if you go flat out like a lizard drinking from Sydney, you'll be here in 4 hours.

Mid North Coast, lol.

Lol Shermy, I have a cardboard cut out of your icon on the front lawn. :)
Em
