hello im new to all of this so please done get upset if im doing something wrong.
i have a few questions with my enclosure:
1.first of all i have reptile sand and i have noticed alot of people use news paper or bark so is sand bad?
2. the tank she is in is 80x50x50 is that to big? she is almost a year old and is about 60cm long.
3. im having heating problems and i feel its because the terrainium does not have a back drop and its all glass with glass sliding doors and had a 2cm vent below the doors like a perforated strip the full length on the tank, on the top its glass with a 70cm perforated strip the full length of the tank.
i currently have a a4 size heat mat and that is on all the time and i have a large heat lamp with a red globe but i only have that on a few hours at night but my tank is rarely above 25 deg(middle of the tank). should i get heat cord aswell and have that under the sand or under the glass and have that on all the time aswell but kind of spread it towards the middle and closer to the cold side of the tank?
but yeah just any suggestions would be great as im new to all of this. oh and also im guessing if the tank is a bit warmer she will come out of her cave more i have only ever seen her out once and that was when she escaped :?
