Stomach contents Feral cats

I saw a news article recently in regards to the stomach contents of feral cats. I come a cross a couple of humanly dispatched Specimens each year in remote/isolated parts of far north qld and am keen to inspect the stomach contents.
I would like to confirm..
• A partly Digested venomous Snake is dangerous (venom still active)
• What is the best liquid to preserve dead reptiles, birds, amphibians..
• any PPE tips.

Probably not, but treat it like it is. It might be. Don't stick your finger in their mouths and you should be fine, it's not like a partially digested snake is going to bite you. If there was a fresh snake in the cat's belly and you pulled it out, stuck your finger in its mouth, then squeezed the dead snake's head, then yep, you'd likely envenomate yourself. Don't do this.

• What is the best liquid to preserve dead reptiles, birds, amphibians..

Formaldehyde. But you probably won't be able to get your hands on it these days. Metho is the best thing you'll easily get hold of.

• any PPE tips.

Latex gloves should be sufficient. Many people don't even bother with them for cutting up dead animals.
