what is the deal when trying to feed my juvies atm and they strike, coil then let go of there bite.
then they go up and down with their head smelling the adult mice and play around instead of getting straight in and eating it?

could possibly be the size of their food if not id just say it would be the fact that their juvies when my childrens was tiny he used to strike alot but just drop his food

nah the size is fine cause they have eaten bigger

cant help ya much soz only thing i could think of is well they are juvies so guessing there just learning

My Coastal does the same thing, but eats the rat eventually. I guess some are just different.

i have a couple of snakes that do the same , coil there food than check it up and down to make sure its good enough for them to eat :| they always end up eatting it they just take there time :)

cheers nico

Sounds like they are looking for the head of the animal so it can be swallowed easily.
