Hey guys, as some of you already may know (from my other thread) Im in the process of trying to handle my 15mo female caramel coastal carpet python.
Whenever she sense me or whenever i make my presence known, she will wind right up in strike position and move towards me slowly as if to say "here i am big guy".
However, its much more of a show off then anything as she has never struck at all over the week or so i've had her. If i man up and go into her enclosure when shes curled up and hovering towards me, she usually stops and almost back tracks. When i fed her she licked the rat and kind of grabbed it and fell with it instead of striking, She is very aware of her surroundings and is'nt affraid to move towards the suspected threat while shes curled up.
Is this normal behavior or could she possibly be saving a strike ? I know its hard to judge by my description and it is obviously deffensive behavior but i would love to know if this is normal and i have nothing to worry about or is it rare for a python to curl if they do not intend to strike ?
Thanks in advance-
