Hi everyone,

I own two Northern Velvet geckos and two Lesueurs Velvet geckos. I currently use peat moss as a substrate. The peat moss I use seems to be very moist, is their any other substrates I could use?

Thanks,
James (Reptilemaniac)

All help is appreciated :D

I keep my Oedura on astroturf, mainly attributed to the fact that they rarely touch the ground. Lay boxes are used during the breeding season of which are filled with 50% sand: 50% vermiculite.

Mix of red and washed play sand for Nephrurus, mix of coir peat and washed play sand for Oedura, peat moss for Phyllurus and coir peat for Strophurus

Peat moss is moist/wet out of the bag, however you can dry it out before putting it into an enclosure.
