makes you wonder about some people
A two-and-a-half metre crocodile created a traffic snarl in Cairns in far north Queensland this morning.
Drivers abandoned their cars and looked on as the crocodile sunned itself on Airport Avenue just after 7:00am AEST.
Police were sent to the area to direct traffic until the crocodile scampered into a nearby creek.
They say they are reasonably confident it was the same crocodile that went swimming off the Cairns esplanade near the city centre yesterday.
Wildlife authorities say while there is a healthy crocodile population in Cairns estuaries, they are not routinely seen on the city's foreshore.
