Super worms for beardies

Hey all,

I’ve seen sites that say super worms are good for beardies but when I went to get some they appear to just be really big meal worms which I thought aren’t the best. Are superworms ok? My beardie eats crickets but I wanted to give her a bit of variety.

REAL Superworms are a different species to Mealworms. Be careful that you are getting "Superworms" & not just large Mealies (you can see the difference in the colouring of head & tail areas) , but yes, Supers are fine for Beardies "in moderation".
Supers have more meat to chitin ratio meaning they have more nutritional value & also easier on digestion.
The key of course is "moderation". Don't feed as a staple full meal, but my Beardie happily gets 4 Supers per day... he would eat the entire packet but he only gets given 4 & that is all...

Some people sell giant mealworms as superworms, so just be careful you get what you are after
