It finally happened :) I went to offer my girl a nice plump rat and then thought i better move her water bowl. I wasn't too worried as the last two weeks she hasn't even striked the rat prefering i leave it where she can eat at her own pace and she was at least 10 inches away. Well reached in and bam! got me. She is still pretty small and it didn't hurt as I had thought it might but man it bled :D
I guess I can't say she has never bitten now.

My first snake had bitten me 2 times before I had even handled him, hence his name is "Angry"
(Striped Coastal Carpet).
It scared the crap out of me, but I soon got used to bleeding for a month till he settled down. savage little bugger.

hehe...my first lil blonde mac was the most peed off snakey id ever met in my life...so many tags, so many memories

I find its the strike that scares me more than the bite hurting. Especialy if you get caught off guard.
Depends on the size of the python though i suppose. I reckon a scrubby would kill.
Ive only had yearlings and maccys tag me so far

i agree, bundle of nerves me, i **** myself when they strike even thought the bite doesnt really hurt, probably the worse thing you can do for the snake is to react and pull away as they strike, hard not to though...

lol
When i was trying to get my maccy hatchlings to feed for the first time
i would be sitting there for about 10 mins holding a pinky in front of there mouth.
When they finaly struck id flinch and pull the pinky back out of there mouth
Frustrating

It possibly didn't hurt much as the snake may yet be too small, or it bit you on a more fleshier part of arm or hand.

Let me assure you when its a large python, and it bites where the nerves bunch together, or into the bones and tendons you'l be screaming like a stuffed pig just like the rest of us.

I agree with deano, i got bitten by a 7ft carpet and it didn't hurt at all just scared the Sugar out of me.
