Hey there

I have a URS ES fitting with lead in one of my tanks which seems to have stopped working. This particular fitting has always been used for my infrared globes.

I took it apart and put it back together (thinking the leads may be loose inside). Upon wiring everything back up, I tested it again (with an infrared globe) and it didn't work. I then tried the fitting with a standard white UV light and would you believe it, it WORKS!

I have tried the globes in another URS ES fitting with lead (recently purchased for another tank) and both worked fine.

Can anyone tell me how on earth the fitting will work for white UV lights and no longer the red infrared globes?

Might be possible that both globes have different lengths when they screw in,with the one not working it might not be getting contact with the centre terminal.

the centre contact might be pushed down slightly, you might have to carefully, gradually bend it up.Disconnected from power first, but you would know that.

:) yes I do, I've already been unwiring it so I am aware of pulling it out of the wall first - one moment

OMG you are quite simply a GENIUS! I feel incredibly blonde right now but thank you again for your help

Its one of the conditions on my licence to help damsels in distress, hope it works.
