Continuing on
The bats on this trip we caught were bent wings (not sure which), and long eared bats. As on this trip last year we found that some bats didnt key out to either of the species present but is another species which is being described
flying in my tent
Frilled neck lizard
R. ligasta, A lifer and as always non cooperative
another lifer, notoscincus ornatus
A Lifer and massive range extension, ctenotus schomburgkii (spelling)
carlia schmeltzii
D. Australis
Spotted python
another couple of ctenotus - we found 4 ctenotus, i forget which these are
We saw 3 Red kangaroos
Moths that were in groups of 100s in certain cave areas in the basalt
I started a new job the week before this trip working on dingoes, then took this week off for this trip. Thought i would see how i went at stalking dingoes. i chased this dingo (pretty sure it was alone). it was calling and i followed its call for about 1.5 hours then finally it ran in front of me (25m away). it didnt realise i was there, posed beautifully and my camera was slow to focus so i only got shots of it after it saw me and turned and ran
Chital Deer were also present
Cyclorana novahollandiae came out after the rain
and cyclorana albogutata were present in swamps
Another Lifer, demansia paupuensis
small mammals were few and far between but this little melomys was nice enough to sit for a photo
Cheers
