I'm suprised they haven't put up a big sign out front saying "free burmese python to anyone that can catch it". I'm sure every herp in town would want to see movies there.

From what I understand, you can't give away a large burm in the United states

One reason large snakes are hard to sell/giveway is that some states have a maximum size limit on pet snakes. A friend of mine left Arizona to work in Colorado, and left her Burmese (named Sluggy) with a friend. She planned on picking it up later when she had settled in somewhere, but the job fell through and she moved around a bit. After a couple of years she got a call from her friend asking her to collect Sluggy because he now exceeded the maximum size for pet snakes in Arizona - 16 feet. :shock:

wouldn't that just lead to a reversal of the normal wanker syndrome of exaggerating your snake's size? "Nah, she's only 8ft!"
