hi i just want to ask a couple of questions and if someone could awnser them that would be great!
1.Do you need a thermostat with a heating light or is it better to get different watt globes?

2. What is the best brand of thermostat and where would i get one?

if you can anser these it will be very very helpful
thank you
Harry

yes use a thermostat.

if you are light emiting globes or mercury vapor type globes use a dimming.
with mats cords and ceremics use a dimming or a pulsing.
i like both the habistat one s from herp shop and the microclimate ones.
i use both of these brands and have not had a drama.

Murcury vapour globes produce massive amounts of heat and should only be used in very large enclosures or for animals such as monitors that require very high temps. All manufactuers of mercury vapour globes state "Not for use with thermostat" I was under the impression that they won`t work on a thermostat due to the built in ballast, it may even be unsafe to use them on a thermostat.
