hey all,
im currently building all my snakes new enclosures! And currently looking at what thermostats i would need!
ive seen the magic eye ones but unsure on how they work?
i have my own snake room which only has the one window which doesnt let alot of light thru!
do they need to see sunlight to work or just ur normal light in the room?

also what thermostats work the best! and or dont! like ur dimming or pulse!

and what brand is the best? im tossing up between mircroclimate and the ones on herptrader!
they are relitivly the same price once u buy the thermo and night eye from the ones on herptrader!

Cheers Jesse

The ones on HerpTrader are the best - "Habistats"...and great backup service as well. Pulse proportional if you are using heat mats or panels. Go dimming if you have globes. For pythons you can set them up with a timer to drop the night time temperature if you want to cool condition your males.

ive got a b1magiceye micro climate and it works great you just adjust the light sensor at the bottom to the lighting in your room so that it turns onto night time when the sun goes down its best done right on sunset , it explains it pretty good in the manual but there easy to use

Either habistat or microclimate, both are great thermostats.
Use a dimming one if you are using incandescent lights or pulse proportional for anything else. Both work really well, but the added expense of a dimming stat is not needed if you are not using light bulbs.
The Magic Eye works great in the Microclimates. You can adjust its sensitivity with a small dial on the bottom so it cna be fine tuned to suit the level of light in your room. They have two dials on the front, one for your temp setting and the other sets how many degrees you want the temperature to drop during the 'night' cycle of the thermostat. I have a quite a few of these and they work great, especially coupled up to a ceramic heat emitter.

thanks for the replys every one!
im leaning towards mircroclimate as it has the night eye built into it and will be using globes and it will be the only sorce of light for the snakes besides the room light!
has any one had any issues with this model?
and does any one know how much they dimming micro thermostat is? and where i can get them cheap i need like 10+ haha

hey all again
been looking around and have found a few good microclimates!
