Hey guys,
Just wondering, you know them reptapet probe thermostats, like this one (sorry bout size of pic, i am no good with that stuff lol yet)
Well i was wondering, are you able to put like one of those double adapters in them, so you can like heat 2 enclosures with the one thermostat?Or is there any other ways of keeping enclosures right temp, without forking out $100 per thermostat?
Thanks,
Chris

I tried to use a thermostat (habistat) like that, and the other one that didn't have the probe got way to hot for some reason. I'm pretty sure people do, do it though.

You can, but the cages have to be setup identically so that the temps in both enclosures are the same. However, if the globe blows in the cage with the probe, the thermostat will be emitting full power to the other heat source, which could overheat that cage, so it's not a good idea.

Herp Shop sells a Habistat thermostat which is basically 2 thermostats in one, that would suit your need perfectly.

Just checked, that thermostat is $140, but it says it is not suitable for light globes, i'm not sure why that would be though...?

Ok, well any way, i basically need to heat 4 enclosures, already have 2 reptapet probe thermostats-One for geckos and one for snake-The beardies havn't got thermostat as the globes keep blowing and i will be getting a carpet at the start of next year-so that is my 4th enclosures

The twin channnel thermostat on herp trader is a switching thermostat. i think they don't recommend it because the constant switching on and off blows bulbs in a fairly short amount of time

Yes, but the single channel switching thermostat is recommended for use with light globes. Weird... i think it might be a typo?

you could just get some timers and set how long it takes the enclosure to get to the right temp. so if it takes 5 min to get to the right temp set the timer to come on every 5 min if you get what i mean

I HAVE NOT TRYED THIS SO I DONT NO IF IT WILL WORK BUT YOU COULD GIVE IT A TRY

Time will vary depending on what the room temps are at the time.
