wasn't too sure where to intoduce myself but here seems good. anyways i currently live in melbourne, moved here in 2003 with my family when i was 14. i am an avid animal keeper and sadly don't have any reptiles at the moment only a 32g tropical aquarium, a 7.5g marine aquarium, 2 love birds and a dog(new puppy on the way). not sure what reptile to start with but was thinking about some type of gecko.

when i was living in canada i had a female veiled chameleon she was really lots of fun. kept her in a 100cmX100cmX100cm mesh/pvc cage. she got about 30cm half tail half body and was my first reptile pet cept some native lizards i caught(which were pregnant at the time, i caught 2 lizards and released 13).

anyways i hope to learn heeps here, once exams are over

welcome andrew I'm sure you will get along with a certain memeber here ( no not that joughlin twit)

Hi Andrew, Welcome to APS...Got any photos of your aquariums?

(BTW. When you mentioned your 32g aquarium at first I though you were showing off - I mean 32 Grand would by you a lot of fish  )

How you going mate, are you aware of our reptile keeping laws?

More importantly, are you aware of the laws in regards to being an APS member?? You must put on a BBQ for all members and supply one free reptile to each attending member. ;) :)

Hi Andrew and welcome! :D

when i was living in canada

Were you born in Canada? After marrying an Aussie in '96, we moved here in '99 from Manitoba. All 3 children (21, 25 and 29) were born near Vancouver. We are in Melbourne too....

Cheers, Judy

by the way. When you mentioned your 32g aquarium at first I though you were showing off - I mean 32 Grand would by you a lot of fish )

WOW. if i had 32 grand(imaging modifying the pool to a giant outdoor aquarium). by 32g i mean 32 gallons or around 128litres.

I thought 32grams! lol

that would make my 7.5g tank very VERY small!

yep, born in canada in 1989 Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver! Go Vancouver Canucks!

hmm, not sure how happy my parents would be about a BBQ. 1 free reptile per attending member. jeeze a BBQ would cost alot for me. have to go shop, buy several reptiles not to mention stubbys sausages...

i have learned bits and pieces about the laws. such as there are different levels of reptile licenses needed. there are certain reptiles (blue tounges, eastern long necks) where the owner dosen't need a licence.

Im very envious of your little chameleon.

she was a strange pet, she went through a phase where she thought my pupils were insects. first time it happened i didn't know what hit me. i was watching tv with her on my knee and wap something hit me in the eye. looked around went back to watching tv, WAP. again, looked around looked at sarah and shes got both eyes staringn straight at me! basic info on chameleons if they got both eyes looking at something its most likely going to end up in there stomach!!

will post pics of some of my corals asap.
