Have you spoken to a reptile vet?
Ring these guys they may help with advice, they are in Darwin but it can't hurt to try.
It's their emergency number

Thanks Darlyn,
Gave the vet a call and thankfully he answered today.
With the symptoms I described, he too possibly believes that it may have been a bad rat due to the fact of the retching, bile and bloatedness.
He suggested and injection of Baytril and keeping the fluids up preferbly orally.
So I called the local vet back and forwarded the info and she was happy to assist with the injection etc.
she has had her injection of Baytril (5 ml i think) and she gave her an injection of saline (she did not want to risk possibly getting any fluid in the trachea. As I mentioned earlier the vet has has very little experience with snakes.
By the way I was quite suprised how much movement the snake had when I got her out to take to the vet.
If anyone has any input on any of this treatment, good or bad/ right or wrong please feel free to post.
Also, I have been given a Baytril Syringe with 3mm to give the snake in 24 hours. Is this sound advice and does it need to be refrigerated?
Again thanks heaps Darlyn, just the info I needed.
7 phone calls including Taronga Zoo and Australia Zoo and no help until APS members help out (you guys rock)
Will keep you in the loop and will let this girl settle in the cosy 33 degree enclosure.
