hey guys today is the first time i really ever let my python go for a little wonder around the room, and i think she was having to much fun when i went to put her back in the enclosure she took a strike and after that she just wrapped around my bed frame and wouldnt come off any one else's snake do that?

it is usual for the snake to wrap its' lower body around things just incase they fall , it is like an anchor. she might be a tad cage defensive if she striked and i wouldn't worry about either of them .

Could be as simple as you startled it wile it was in a new unfamiliar place.or it may have smelt food or some thing. I had this problem when I started letting mine wonder. I kept it to 15 min roams, before I would pick her up and handle her for a bit then let her go again.

All of my snakes try to hang on to something (anything:rolleyes:) when I pick them up.... I think it is a natural instinct. My bredli always comes out of her enclosure, branch and all, then I unroll her off it, because she wont let go..... they all try to hang on to either the door, a rock, thier hide..... and usually my arm when I am putting them back

I might be wrong, but I think yours is perfectly normal and wouldnt be worrying about it. If you are letting yours free roam a bit, get power cables and other things it can grab onto out of the way, or just be prepared to have to unwrap it from things when you want to put it back in the enclosure:lol:

My stimsons always seems to be curious & want to explore when they come out. They too, will wrap their tails around anything to hang on when going in or out. Branch, even the edge of the enclosure on the way out. And my arm on the way in.

All three of my guys love going for a wander, they are the same, they cling onto something when I go to put them back, they much prefer to be out even though all 3 of their enclosure are massive for each of their species. But in terms of the strike, I am guessing the same as the person above me said, maybe you startled him/her, accidently or maybe their hungry

lol i reckon shes a roamer and doesnt like being in her cage, which is normal, i tend to have the same problem with my snakes when having to put them back into their enclosers. nothing to worry about, just be sure to be gentle when trying to remove her from her clutches.
