Those are heat sensitive pits. They can see heat with those. If your fingers are to close, they always hit the spot if you know what I mean So I wisely keep my fingers far away from the pointy end If you get bitten you have a big, very big problem!

Thank you very much! I am totally addicted to blacktails! I am trying to get all 4 subspecies of them. I have two now. I am busy with the other two, but those are even more expensive and very hard to get.
