thier has been some talk if this turtle is a short neck or a saw shelled
it wwas sold to me as a short neck.

It is definitely a Murray River turtle (Emydura macquarii macquarii) and nothing like a Saw-shelled turtle.

There are around 30 species of Short-necks in Australia and up to 20 species of Long-necked turtles so calling a turtle a short-neck doesn't describe the species, just differentiates between all of the long-necked turtles that's all.
