Turtle noob

Gday,

I've just been thinking and realised we have an outdoor pond (in Melbourne, Victoria) and it'd be great to put a turtle or two in there. It's about 7 foot by 2 foot in length. It wont be heated at all so I'm just wondering what types of turtles I could look in to getting that would thrive with relatively low maintenance in my climate/conditions.

Best to get turtles that are native to your area, eg Eastern Long Necks.

eastern long necks , even murry short necks . i have 6 easterns in 3 ponds and a boat pond , the short necks will be going out to one of the ponds as soon as the weather starts geting better/warmer. as they are only a year old and have been inside .
