Hey guys, just thought I'd post some pics of my boys setup, and see what your tanks/ponds/tubs look like?

Mines an outdoor ~700L custom 'spa bath' that I picked up still brand new still wrapped in plastic. A 'cage' has been built over the top so that he can have an 'above tub' basking dock, allowing the water to be deeper for him. The cage is locked with 4 padlocks, has a small access door on the top of one end, and both sides of the cage completely lift up for complete access. Theres got some big rocks and polished river rocks on the bottom as well as a lot of lillies, water hyacinth, water lettuce and some fully submerged plants (though I want/need far more of these). I'll be adding some more rocks for him soon as well.

This pic shows the cage 'closed'. we're still attaching shadecloth (so it completly covers all sides) and will have another large piece of cloth reaching up to halfway across the tub that can be rolled back to cover different lengths of the tank as required (e.g. may only need a small portion covered during winter)

Looks nice. Dont turtles need a sapce to dry off and no submursed all the time? PS i cant spell

Yeah, turtles need a place to bask; they need it so they can completly dry off to prevent unwanted infections, maintain healthy skin and shell and to get enough UV. The rocky looking thing suspended at one end of the tank is his dock, he's able to easily climb up and bask whenever he wants (hence the cage around the top; without it the turtle would just walk off).

O yer it thought dat was rocks on the bottom how does it go with filling it up?

What do you mean by filling it up? you mean when the tub is drained and refilled? I just wedge the host through the cage wire and turn the tap on.. just wait till its full :)
