I have a young mertens water monitor and my girlfriend wants to add a young turtle to his tank, would this work?? or do you think the monitor will kill the turtle?? what do you think?

a mate of mine keeps turtles in with his laceys in there big out door cage and they are fine but not shaw about mertens....sorry.

I think it would depend on the size of the turtle, if its big enough the monitors won't pose a threat I don't think but a small one would probably become a quick snack.

They used to have Emydura (i think i've got the right genus) belli in with the Mitchells at Taronga Zoo without any major problems. The turtles got removed for disease reasons, not because they were nibbling tails (which is what happens with water dragons and turtles sometimes).
