Hi APSers,

For my Masters course I have asked to do an assignment for Tourist Behaviour which involves designing my own tourist attraction!
My design proposal is "Reptile World" or something of that extent and I have to figure out market segments, motivation, image, layout and orientation, etc.

Anyway the point is, I know most of you have visited one animal sanctuary/reptile park/etc at some stage, I'm interested in what you thought were the good and bad points about these facilities, and any other suggestions you have are welcome :)

Cheers.

MORE HERPS! the places around us dont seem to have that many - even the zoo :?

I think one of the best lay outs I have seen over here is at Toronga zoo, where there is a mix of outside enclosures and inside.
They have also made the enclosures quite natural looking and made them so that you can usually see the animals, but they can still have privacy to, at least most of them anyway.
ARP have done pretty much the same to, they have good displays.

As Zoe stated most of us would like to see more Herps, but if it was a 'Reptile World', I surpose you would have more Herps!

I do think though that the reason most places(Zoo's and alike) don't specialise 100% is that they want to attract a larger audiance, which is why ARP have many other animals, obviously the zoo's do to, so your 'Reptile world' might be best to house other friendlier, cuddlier things to! If you know what I mean.

Hope it helps.

Neil

I liked the Picnic area there. Great place to meet with friends and have few drinks.
