URS Enclosures

Just curious, What is suitable to house in the URS enclosures that are the mesh on top, with a plastic black frame and glass sides etc?
I have had some people tell me that they dont suit most herps because the heat inside is too hard to keep stable due to it being so open on the top
I have one that isnt in use that I was going to use to breed mice to cull and feed to my snakes but whats your opinions on keeping certain herps in them?

We have kept both snakes and geckos in these type of enclosures and have never had any problems .
u just have to make sure you keep an eye on the temps .
