Today I saw three Varanus griseus, and managed to photograph two of them. They are a truly beautiful species.

This adult male showed his hemipenes off. He was also shedding. You can see the old skin on his nape has already come off. He had a SVL of 35 cm and a TL of 81cm.

Great Shots! If you don't mind me asking where were these photo's taken (don't have to be specific) looks pretty barren all i can see is sand that stretches on and on....
 
Wow, beautiful looking monitors. WTbuy they are from Western Asia and North Africa, so I'll hazard a guess at photos taken in the middle east?
