hi ppls,
just wondering i'm looking to increase my collection and am hopefully am going to do a venamous snake handlers course and was just wondering what sort of things would i have to do to be able to keep say for instance a "Red Bell Black" for show in my home. I think they r an amazing animal but not as cuddly as my other pythons. :)
Aswell hopefully i'll be getting my salt water croc as soon as i get its enclosure built.
Any info of any of these as in how to take care of them would be greatly appreciated. I am getting tips from a mate at wokr who already has a croc but more knowledge is better than nothing. :)
I have an advanced wildlife licence if that helps.

A croc! You crazy man! actually think they would be AWESOME but wouldnt dare try and keep one..

with the croc make sure it has a place it can bask on dry land or else they seem to get fungal infections also how big will it be for a juvi i'd have a minimum tank size of 6ft x 2ft x 2ft with about a 1/4 of that dry land with a basking spot and water that they can happily submerge themselfs in.

all i have to do is convince mum to let me have one again :D

6ft is a bit excessive.. But as long as most of it is wate rlike westie suggested, it should be fine.

It wouldnt work for a freshie tho, Unless you had a shyteload of lillies or something. They just stresst out too easily

Huh....your puttin a salty in a 6 foot tank??? That right???How long will it stay in there for???

Is it standard practice to swap croc's out for a hatchies when they get too big?

A 6foot tank would be great. Chuck a heater at 28c, a decent pump to filter the crap out of the water, a few rocks or bricks for basking or decoration but dont put fish in there or you could start feeding problems. They tend to like moving food so chunks of meat can go off the menu real quick. If you get your stuff right he will be 1m long in 12 months. If you dont want that size, turn the heat down a couple and only feed him once a week.
