my python has not eaten for atleast two months, but i keep finding diarrea and little turds, today he's not even up in his branch or on the rock shelf, and now seams very lathagic/ no energy at all.
Starting to stress out a bit, was wondering if i took a stool sample to get anyised, it would tell me the same info as a vet would so i can get a plane of action to fix him up

first things first, how old and what type of python is it?
what do you use for heating and are the temps in its cage correct according to a thermometer?
if it's temps are too cool that can often cause it not to eat, particularly during these cooler months.

sanna , i dont think their problem is the no eating , its the fact that in the time it hasnt eaten it has continued to pass diarrhoea which isnt normal from what i have read

yes op taking a fresh stool sample to the vet can help determine whats wrong with your python

Sorry to here about your snake, I hope everything is okay with him.
I would be taking your snake and a stool sample to the vet to get him back to health again.

More info required:

- Temps
- Photos of feces if possible
- Description of behaviour of animal ie. elaborate on this lethargy, can it right itself if placed on its back?
- Type of animal and age

etc. etc.

The more info you can give, the better.

Melissa - what makes you think that from the ops one post?

now you've changed your post before you said " take it to a vet or experienced herp keeper asap - you dont seem to have the experience to deal with this on your own "

just curious what makes you think they don't have the experience or that it should go to a vet asap :)

Are you referring to my comment about him not seeming to have enough experience to correct this issue on his own and to seek advice from a vet or experienced keeper (since edited out)?

Well, I don't really feel like picking apart the OPs post publicly (hence the reason I edited my comment out), but if you really can't see it for yourself and you'd like me to go through it with you, feel free to PM.

Totally agree with Mellissa on this one Any experienced keeper would give ALL relevant information in the first post Without all the information any reply is most probably incorrect because those replies cannot be anything other than guesswork Op If you read this please give as much information as you can That way we may be able to suggest something that will help But without even knowing what type of python it is, or its temperatures etc, it is a very hard question to answer with any degree of accuracy

Two very experienced people asking for more info, you should provide it to receive
the best advice.

if a regular member to any animal forum you would know to post every little piece of details to get a constructive reply. Take the snake to the vet and have them examine the animal AND take a stool sample. that's the best advice. if you cannot afford it call and speak to the vet surgery about a payment plan
