VHS Ballarat Easter BarBQ??

Curious.... does anyone know how the VHS Easter BarBQ went in Ballarat on Saturday?

We really enjoyed it last year, but have not heard anything from this year's gathering...Ouzo?? Soulweaver??

Yeah it wasn't bad, fairly small turnout compared to last year i'm told.

yeah it wasn't too bad jude! about 20 people or so, nick and sal FLEW in from phillip island lol

i got to play with my roos , we watched the taipans get fed which was pretty cool. some parents obviously didnt understand what they were looking at cos a few of us had to pull kids back that were running straight towards the open coastal taipan cage!

my day was made simply by getting really close to a wedge tailed eagle they had there. he was in his aviary but on the ground near the edge so i went up and sat next to him lol. i luv wedge taileds so much so i was really happy...there was only a bit of chicken wire between us . that might sound dumb to most but i really luv those birds!

i only got a couple of pics (clogged the cam up with the wedgie lol ), here's one of a lacey which they got given...it's not in the best condition but she eats pretty well! and i'll attach some of the eagle too

Last year Daavid took my pic standing beside/in front of the Eagle's wing span diagram...it is huge! Nice shots of the Lacie...we took a few of him when we were up there in Jan with family visiting from Canada... Thank you for sharing...did you have fun?

The only thing I saw on the weekend was 2 dead Copperheads, a dead Echidna and numerous amounts of skittled roos & wallabies - Oh...and I caught one measly looking flathead whilst fishing! Grrrrr

lol judy i had my pic taken standing beside that a few years back and it was pretty embarassing :lol:. the easter egg hunt sort of consisted of the guy opening the box that they were in and letting the kids take them lol. there were only 2 kids

YEs, that would be nice Zoe, I like to see big wedgies..;-)

Wedge tails are awesome Zoe, I have seen heaps out in the wild and they are just magnificent, so graceful in flight but very skittish, fly away quite easily if they suspect anything. Even if you are just trying to get some pics.
