You should be able to tell, have you been offered some you susspect are crossed?

I guess comparison of clutchmates, otherwise if they are 'vitties', check em out to see if you can see any babata characteristics like head shape, spines. Get hold of a good taxonomy book like cogger and use the diagrams to compare them if you are not entirely familiar with species
