hey guys just wondering if any one has made their own water fall for an inclosure? cos im thinking of buying a little pump from bunnings and then making a water fall out of fiber glass or some thing... just not sure if fibre glass will be easy enough and if there is a better thing to make it out of... n also how to make the shape, like as in what to use as a mold...

i just mean for a look to get some ideas... on shape size materials etc.... not to buy one

Hey nev, im not sure that that is the best idea for beardies though. They like it nice and dry but i could be wrong.

my beardies love the waterfall they have in their enclosure.... quite often they will just sit in it... then they hop out bask for a while and hop back in.... seems like the perfect life :)

i sorted that i have the latest issue of beards in bikinis and have cut out the centrefold and pinned it to the back of the enclosure :)

ahahah im sure he is luving it... good luck on gettin them to mate tho... hell just nod his head at the poster from now on...

Gotta be careful with waterfalls that they can't sit under the water and make it all run out all over the cage and the pump runs dry.

very true design is important... sounds like you have had that experience too magpie my friend....lol.

make sure there isnt much splash as the water run off can cause a problem with the extra damp, if you have a pine cabinet, l'm building one too so tell us what you end up doing.

Use real river rocks siliconed or resined to a backboard, run a silicone tube or tubes up the board before sticking the rocks on and manifold them to a single larger tube to connect to the pump. Then use any container you like for the "pool section. Alternatively buy the one I have sitting here doing nothing :) I should be able to do you a second hand pump far cheaper than bunnings from all the fish gear I am selling. How high is your enclosure, i.e. what height do you want your waterfall to be?

the cage is 600 high... im lookin for the smallest pump i can get so pm me the details of what ya sellin african (as in size), if ya can, n ill hv a look into it :D

The problem with the fibreglass waterfalls is that lizards can get into the back of the waterfall and knock the hoses off.If you make your own, make sure that there is no way that your beardies can get into the back.
