Hey everyone,
For a uni assignment I'm doing, I need to collect samples of plants that have 'agricultural, horticultural or veterinary significance'. ie: weeds that poison cattle, plants that get stuck on sheep and damage wool, plants that stock can eat, etc. I'm wondering if anyone knows any specific places in and around Sydney where I can find such things. lantana, pattersons curse, rye, millet, etc. There's plenty I can use, I just don't know where to find them.
Thanks heaps!

Can't help you in Sydney but I know there is almost no place up here where you won't find something that fits that criteria. Good luck with your assignment.

Go for a walk along the old frieght line from Dulwich Hill to White bay. Has everything and more.

Call the DPI - they'll have 'hot spots' or will know where there's plenty of agricultural 'weed' pests.

Does your university have an Ag-research facility? Talk to them.

Local council weed control services - they know it too!

Farmers cohort - there'll be a local cohort they'll tell you more too.
