Wet season crossing video

Old footage from crossing the Magela in Kakadu. Transformed from a dry road for 8 months of the year to a major creek for the rest. It becomes a highway for fish, crocs, turtles and files snakes as they spread out to move around the country.

It was around 2003,,late march or early april? why's that? it's like that every year. I haven't been through for years now, that may have been the last time in the video, but used to go through regularly each wet when running tours up there. First went through in 1985 when the crossing and road to the east was all dirt. Bit more of a challenge then, especially as I was driving a 3 cylinder 2 stroke suzuki 4wd.

Have heard there is now a gate across the road when the creek is deemed impassable at 1m; is that true?

No reason, just all the trees are bigger now lol. Looked all the same but different.

I don't remember any gates on either end, i think alot of people would be upset if they did lock it though. Would have been a lot more fun when it wasn't sealed!
