What is it?

Just found this little fella in the backyard after the dog started barking.

Excuse the washing basket, I had to move him it away from the dogs area and didn't want to use a snake tub in case it has mites or something.

EDIT: obviously it is a blue tongue :s but do they have sub species or different names etc etc?
