Took this photo when I was camping in Jervis Bay last year; can anyone tell me what it is?

Cheers

long-nosed potoroo Potorous tridactylus

it's a fairly common marsupial

Cheers for that zoolander but it was no way near as common as those bloody gangs of possums that were trying to rob my tent!

looks more bandicooty to me. Generally in comparison, bandicoot ears are a little bigger than potoroos. hard to tell by photo.

Then again, I'm no expert, so take what I say with a grain of salt lol
Cheers

Just googled some facts:

Do they help you at all.
  • The fur of a potoroo is soft and the fur of a bandicoot feels stiff
  • Potoroo tails are almost as long as their bodies. Bandicoot tails are much shorter than their bodies
  • Potoroos hop on their hind feet whilst bandicoots scamper on all four feet
