I have recently moved to Newcastle from Darwin. In the NT heating wasn't necessary. Now that we are going to be living in a cooler climate I need to add some heating to my enclosures.

I have a BHP in a Large URS Terrrarium and a NT Carpet in a Medium URS Terrarium.

What do you suggest as the best heating setup and what is the best temps for these two types of snakes?

Cheers :D

Hi Luvlace.................
after 26 yrs plus experience, i have a preferance for heat mats under the enclosure and a basking infrared lamp also.

The temp's i provide differ from ambient, floor and body, also night and day etc.
Basically both BHP's and Darwin's(which i maintain) love the higher end of the heat range.
I offer temps from as low as 25 celcius to as high as 41 celcius.
These temps are available for them too maintain their optimal and preferred temperature ranges, which change according to slough cycles, digestion periods and night and day ambient temps.

If you require any further clarifiacation, don't hesitate to PM me.
I lived in the NT since 1977, so have experience with tropical humidity and arid heat/cold.

Hope this helps
