What's going on the site really seems to have gone downhill of late and nowhere near as many logged on or those elusive spies?

Ok,now there's 3 times the people that were on b4 but still slow as!!!

Nah mate no more jungle pics from me,all they seem to do is cause trouble and that's not why i post pics of them.Actually i'm quite sick of a certain party who i won't name that keeps trying to drag the past up and keeps trying to belittle me as well as trying to deliberaletly start arguements. Don't care who it is i don't stand for that crap and have sorted the "original" problem out "with the person i had a problem with" except someone else just keeps sticking their big ugly nose in.

Put a "HELL" section on the site and let it rip!!!I've been there and back more times than i can remember and doesn't phase me a bit.Too much tension and rivalry for too long!!

So yeah no more jungle pics from me!

Its Not just This either. I dont know about you guys but Im 100% sick of the constant thread flooders.

I've had a few people I've met in person talk to me about this site. They all have the same opinion as me. There are just way too many self righteous, opinionated, rude and just plain arrogant people on here. It's a shame really as it's a great place, run by great people with just as many great members as idiot ones.
I have personally been made to feel inadequate, and very uncomfortable which is why I stopped posting so much, although I always read. I had a woman come into the shop who told me she took one look at this site, after getting the link from our site, and there was no way she was going to join.
Maybe more people should talk about this and maybe something could be done about it.

Like you said, its a shame that a few bad apples can wreck it for everyone, and it is getting worse.
I stopped looking at this site for several months and when i came back lately it was worse than when i left.

That's what I love about APS, it can go from what is going on and why is it so quiet to 50% of the members here are idiots in just 6 posts. Gotta love it.

hi browns,
i note you have been a active member for some time. i am what i would consider a newbie, i have posted one or two pointless threads but we learn as we go. as most of us do, we spend more time viewing threads than posting them. i read as many posts as possible to learn as much as i can. i can see where you are coming from but it is very important that the likes of you and all other older members do not stop your contributions. i like many joined this site to learn from the experienced.
do not stop your contributions.

I'm not sure what you are getting at? Saturday arvo is always slow. People have better stuff to do that sit at home on the internet.
I just flicked back to the home page and the only non-herp related thread was this one. I would rather have a handful of herp related threads than pages and pages of chit-chat which we seem to have had a lot of lately.

Sorry to hear that Browns, I think ya pictures are great with some really nice animals in them . Sometimes I've logged on to this site and there seems to be heaps of people logged on but not many posts happening. so I know what u mean when things are slow. Don't get the spies thing tho.......

Ahhhhhhhh the joys of it all,all i can say is this is nothing,long term members see every year a new lot come thru complainin bout the same stuff.I will answer it as it has been answered b4 you dont like it seeya theres the door,no matter how much you try to explain your point of view nothing will be taken on board.THIS IS a privately run site & run how ever they want to & no post arguement or members leaving will stop this,APS is a jugernaut members are just fuel that gets burnt off.

That's the attitude popp, Bugger the newer members who come here for help and end up feeling inadequate and end up thinking they shouldn't own herps no matter how much they love them and want to do the right thing.

Yep Popp they come and go all the time.

They start off, buy as much as they can, find out the hard way because it's alot more work than they thought, then they sell everything off because the novelty has worn off but they never say that because they will look bad :lol:

I don't know how many i've seen come and go but it's rarely their fault when they get out of the hobby.

The most annoying thing I find is when people get into the hobby, buy buy and buy, and then post up they have sick animals, explaining all the symptoms and asking for advice. They get advice also most of the time with strongly suggesting they go to a vet. They always have an exuse about time or transport and keep posting progressive reports of how sick the animals are. Then, when they FINALLY go to a vet, and they are told something serious is wrong, and they come on here saying for example "MY SNAKE HAS THIS WRONG, YOU SO CALLED EXPERTS WERE DEADSET WRONG". Seen this so many times lately with newer members.

How is anyone able to diagnose over the internet a sick animal?? And then the blame turns onto the people that try and help because they were wrong.

Moral to the story-if you have a sick animal, pay to take it to the vet. No wonder the longer term keepers and more experienced people don't want to help out anymore.
