hey guys silly question but i was wondering when is the best time to hold my coastal carpet python, i went to pick him up 2 days running in the afternoon and he snapped, its not like him to snap like that.

How old is it? young coastals can be a bit snappy. Couple of days after a feed and coming up to shed are not great times to handle any snake. try using a hook to lift it out rather than your hands.

as a rule of thumb i don't go near anything for atleast 3 days unless i have to clean the enclosure.

if it was the last few days that you are referring to in your first post the snapping at you would most likely be a result of having just fed.
