Hi all.
There was a tremendous racket in my yard today with magpies, noisy miners and apostle birds all going off at something in the grass which turned out to be this fellow. About a metre long, is this just a young carpet or is it something else. The colouring and very close patterning don't look like any carpet I have come across before. All help appreciated.

No it’s not a carpet my dear, stimsons perhaps? Or childrens or spotted (they all look exactly the same to me so someone who owns these will give you a better answer).

And at 1m it would be an adult.

Here is a picture of a stimmy-

it looks like a stimpsons,or childrens python

Looks like a spotted python to me, but I'm probably wrong. Its definitely one of the Antaresia species

Heres a pic of a wild spotted that you can compare your find to.

Thanks everyone for your input. Mattsnake I am out near Mundubbera. First time I have come across one of these. So the general consensus is Spotted then particularly given the location, which I slap my wrist for not including initially?
