i am 90% sure that my female eastern beardy is gravid to my 9mth old central beardy :oops: what on earth should i do? should i not incubate the eggs? i was sure that oakley was too young to breed but there is no other explanation :oops:

i have 2 central beardys 9mth pair, 1 eastern water dragon and my 2 yr old eastern in together as they were all relatively small. what to do?

please no bagging me out as i didnt imagine or plan this to happen

Hi Carina,
I wouldn't incubate the eggs, no-one will want to buy the babies if they are a cross-breed. I'm not even sure if its legal to have cross-breeds like that anyway. Good luck with the not getting bagged out though, I'm sure some people on here will have something to say.
How are the Centrals going? I believe I sold them to you.

yes i did buy them from u. they have turned out to be a pair :) i already have 2 older centrals that are normal phase that i will pair them up with. ok i wont bother with the eggs then. and i will be moving the eastern now this has occurred. hopefully the little central isnt gravid as well but she doesnt look to be

Yeah I would definately seperate the little central female too. You wouldn't want it to be too late like with your eastern female, as it could do serious damage to your young female, as you would probably know.

yep. naughty little boy! i didnt realise they would breed at such a young age and small size?! going to seperate them rite now. i have already checked out the central girl and she doesnt look gravid but u would never kno. and the little boy is hiding

as soon as the boys start headbobbing and acting like little men theyre all ready to go. :)

mine started at about 5 months old,.....

i havent noticed any mating actions and head bobbing or arm waving :(

fair enough,..my man hasnt stopped head bobbing since he started, i have been told hes a little monster thought,...and a little monster he certainly is! :)

wasnt bagging u out either,..just mentioning what i've noticed,.... :)

is it possible the eggs are infertile?

Quite a dilema there Carinacat, esp as your beardy can multi clutch,
Personally I would throw the clutches out, finding homes for people wanting non-breeding pets would be near impossible for so many babies.
Unintentional mistakes will always happen in the hobby (You can be forgiven ;) you're not the first or last) but it is mostly with low end animals that collectors dont want to develop in lineages anyway, you may find enough homes,
either way arent easy options,
Cheers
Adam

no thats cool. i didnt take that as bagging :) she hasnt laid yet but i can see the eggs bulges in her belly. they are the same bulges as my central girl who is gravid as well. not the 9mth old. i have another older central pair
