Have a look at this link - a Wild Expo being held at Darling Harbour in Sydney in September. It includes - amongst other things - a "Reptiles as Pets" conference and even "Best in Show" competitions for Best Python and Best Lizard. They are also looking for exhibitors for those of you who might be interested.

i wonder if bigguy will be doing the talks with the reptiles as pets seminar thing. i mean his company.

Notice that the reptile displayed on the "Reptiles as Pets" page is one we can't keep? Unless you live in the Alice.

thats a shame that we cant keep them they look nuts

Ricko,

I found some last year when I was in the NT, all crossing the highway so I just had to stop and pick them up and move them off the roads !!! And while I had them, I took some pix - not gonna waste an opportunity like that !

But you're right, they are cool little buggers and I reckon lotsa people would keep em if they could. Unfortunately, they only eat six different species of little black ant (I think it's six), and those six are only found around the Alice. I was told that the NT govt has issued just three licences to keep Moloch - The Alice Springs Desert Park, the Alice Springs Reptile Display (I've forgotten their correct name) and the overpriced Wild Animal display at Yulara.
