hi i recently purchased a adult female woma python, pilbara form!
she is not eating wich is probably due to the time of year of course.

but i was holding her today and noticed she has a lump inside of her, wich i felt while she was slidding through my hands, it almost feels like an egg sort of, and her belly made a growling noise when that bit past through my hand, which had my jumper over it to feel more..

i have attatched a pic, where im holding her with my left hand is where the lump inside her is..

does anybody have any idea what this could be?

please let me know..

thanks
Tyrone

Probably time to go to the vet. Cant really see the lump but you should get it checked out. Did it have the lump when you bought it? How long have you had it?

i dont think so no.. had her just over a month. i know i need to get her to the vet and i will do so on monday. but does anyone have any ideas on what it could be? please let me know

thanks
Tyrone

How old is she? there is a chance that it's a tumour but hopefully it isn't, there are other possibilities such as a cyst or something she's eaten (but I assume you probably know he recent feeding habits or if by some odd chance something has gone missing from her enclosure)

You have just got her and we can't really see anything except a nice looking snake in the photo. Sometimes a clump of urate can feel like a lump in the snake's belly and their stomachs will growl or slosh a bit when you handle them when they are getting ready to pass some waste. Looks like your hand is a bit high up for that. I would not suspect eggs, because a gravid female looks very different. Look at the Gravid Girls thread to see examples - particularly of Squinty's WA girl. If you had her a while and had a better idea of her feeding and pooing schedule, you would be able to eliminate some possibilities. As it is, a vet will be able to give you the best idea, because he can get his hands on her and have a proper look.

I would say a tumour is unlikely because I think you would have noticed it before now, so I wouldn't stress too much until you see the vet

Plan for a vet visit, but give her a bath in WARM (not hot, not ever hot) water or put her out on the grass. It could just be that she needs to pass some waste.

ok no worries thank you.. fingers crossed its nothin to bad... will update how i go at the vets..:)
